• If you are looking for good value for money accommodation, look no further than La Roverella. The accommodation is clean, spacious and very comfortable with all you need for a 2 week break. The swimming pool was a huge hit with our teenage children. It makes a wonderful base to explore the south-eastern corner of Sicily and if you like the beach, Marina di Ragusa is no more than 1.5 km away. We had a wonderful holiday, food fantastic and the local people, despite the language barrier, were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

  • Ideaal gelegen villa met een fantastisch zwembad, vooral geschikt voor wie kennis wil maken met het agrarische zuiden van Sicilië. De villa is veilig gelegen binnen een mooie tuin, prima onderhouden en in een prachtige omgeving. Vooral de avondlijke wandelingen in Ragusa en in Marina di Ragusa hebben een onvergetelijke indruk nagelaten. Een plaats om terug te bezoeken, ook met kinderen. Zeer hartelijke onthaal door de gastheer.

  • Il posto in cui e situata La Roverella e molto bello,a noi tutti ci e piaciuto moltissimo,sopratutto a Christian e Jasmin, ne parlano quasi tutti i giorni. Ci siamo portati a casa un bel ricordo di un posto magnifico,che per dire la verità non si trova sempre. Ci siamo trovati veramente a nostro agio, la villetta è veramente bellissima, e anche la piscina. Devo fare anche un complimento alla famiglia Ridha Sadok due persone molto brave e gentili.e anche gli altri che vedevamo durante le nostre vacanze. Ci mancano i buonissimi pomodori della Roverella. Torneremo sicuramente di nuovo alla Roverella per le prossime vacanze, è stato veramente bellissimo.

  • La Roverella is situated in a peaceful location on an Organic Farm, yet conveniently close to Marina di Ragusa, with its shops and restaurants. The villa is comfortable, relaxing and exceedingly well equipped. The large swimming pool and gardens were excellent and the shaded verandah was wonderful for outdoor dining or just relaxing. We could have spent our whole holiday without leaving the villa but there are many places of interest locally that should not be missed.

  • We had a wonderful family holiday at La Roverella. The property was clean and well equiped with a beautiful verandah where we spent most of our evenings. My children loved the pool which had an excellent jacuzzi; this doubled as a toddler pool for my three year old. Location is excellent - 3kms from Marina di Ragusa, 10 minutes from excellent and new Alis supermarket and 5 minutes from glorious unspolit beach at river Irminio nature reserve. Good base for day trips to Modica, Sicli, Ragusa Ibla, Noto and Siracusa. We hope to return soon.

  • La Roverella is een mooie accomodatie midden tussen de tomatenvelden en fruitbomen van de eigenaar. Het appartement is prima en zeer ruim te noemen voor 4 personen. Wij waren er hartje zomer, waardoor temperaturen tussen de 37 en 40 graden heel gewoon waren. Het zwembad is heerlijk en door de warmte hard nodig. De gemetselde barbeque op de veranda was super en we hebben er veel gebruik van gemaakt, vooral volgeladen met de heerlijke verse vis en scampi's uit het nabij gelegen prachtige vissersdorpje Donna Lucata. De afstand tot de zee is enkele kilometers, je bent er zo. Het strand aldaar is schoon, en midden in een natuurgebied. Een stukje oostelijk ligt Marina di Ragusa, een mooi kustplaatsje met ook weer een typisch Italiaans dorpsstrand. Voor het mooiste strand moet je echter naar Camarina, oostelijk van Marina di Ragusa. Het gebied waarin La Roverella ligt is buitengewoon interessant met de geweldige barokke steden als Ragusa en Noto. Het Siciliaanse eten is natuurlijk ook geweldig, koken kunnen ze ! Proef vooral de lokale specialiteiten als Pasta con le sarde en de Pasta alla Norma eens ! Al met al: Het is zeer goed toeven in La Roverella, het achterland is geweldig en de gastvrijheid is een verademing...

  • Wij hebben genoten in het vakantiehuis op de Roverella-farm. Het zijn twee vakantiehuizen naast elkaar, maar je hebt helemaal geen last van de buren. Wel heb je natuurlijk het zwembad gezamenlijk, maar vaak heb je ook dit voor jezelf. Het zijn mooie huizen en zeer goed ingericht. Wij vonden het heerlijk om op ons terras te zitten lezen of te eten, zeer rustgevend! Het is 3 km van het dorp, maar er zijn fietsen, alhoewel geen fietsen zoals wij die gewend zijn, dat was wel jammer. Een auto is wel noodzakelijk.

  • We hebben een heerlijke, ontspannen vakantie op de Roverella gehad. Vanaf het vliegveld in Catania was het ongeveer 2 uur rijden en vervolgens werden we heel hartelijk ontvangen door Mr. Lo Presti. Het huis is precies zoals beschreven op het internet: gezellige inrichting, netjes en het biedt veel privacy en rust op een afgesloten terrein. We hadden het geluk na 2 dagen geen buren meer te hebben :-) dus het heerlijke ruime zwembad was geheel voor ons alleen... Liggend op een van de vele ligstoelen in het zonnetje (26 graden half oktober) met uitzicht op de sinaasappelbomen doet je dan echt alle stress vergeten! De suggesties voor uitstapjes, in de vorm van een beschrijving + kaart, waren zeer de moeite waard! Het zuiden van Sicilie biedt echt nog het authentieke Siciliaanse leven en gelukkig niet de naar ons idee te toeristische toestanden in de omgeving van de Etna en Toarmina. Deze plaatsen zijn ook zeker het bezoeken waard, maar we vonden het toch fijner om weer in de rust van het zuiden terug te keren en vooral alleen Italiaans te horen. :-) Erg prettig was ook de supermarkt op 2 minuten rijden. Kortom: wij raden deze plek van harte aan en zullen zelf zeker terugkeren naar dit kleine paradijsje!!

  • Das Ferienhaus hat unserer Familie sehr gut gefallen. Insbesondere der große Pool war für unsere Kinder ideal. Ein Supermarkt und der Strand sind in kurzer Entfernung (ca. 2km) zu erreichen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

  • Il giudizio sulla vacanza è senza dubbio positivo. Accogliente riservata e tranquilla la struttura di soggiorno (villetta bifamiliare) con adeguati spazi per il relax e lo svago, situata in una località da cui si possono raggiungere e visitare agevolmente non pochi siti artistici e naturali di sicuro interesse. Gradita e apprezzabile l'attenzione che i proprietari pongono nel soddisfare le più diverse esigenze degli ospiti. Una maggiore cura e razionalizzazione delle aree più prossime alla struttura di soggiorno potrebbe forse far dimenticare completamente che ci si trova nell'ambito di una produzione agricola. Buono il rapporto tra il prezzo richiesto e la qualità dell'offerta.

  • De huizen van Roverella zijn ook uitgerust voor een minder goede voor- of najaarsperiode met open haard en centrale verwarming. De vertrekken zijn er heel ruim + veranda die zo groot is als de beneden binnenruimte. Het zwembad is 'echt en niet een ploeterbadje. De aankleding van de woningen is smaakvol. De bio-groenten die plukklaar zijn, mag je weghalen uit de serres. De situering van de woning is zoals het kasteel van Donafugata; je ziet de zee vanop het terras, maar geen last van het strandtoerisme, het korstbije strand ligt in een smal natuurreservaat.Via informatie, aanwezig in de woning, maar vooral via Renzo(die de autenthieke waarden van de streek in z'n hart draagt), ontdek je het beste van Sicilië. Als onthaalgeschenk, kregen we gratis een rondrit in een 4X4 jeep en een bergwandeling met typische Siciliaanse lunch. We kunnen veel leren van de gastvrijheid van de Sicilianen.

  • La Roverella is ideally situated, just five minutes from the sea, in a quiet country setting yet within easy reach of local shops. The villa is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. It was spotlessly clean on arrival with a plentiful supply of bedding and towels. The villa is located on a working organic farm, close to the owner's home, however it offers complete privacy. There is a wonderful shaded verandah to the front where you can sit and eat or relax, even in the heat of the day. The best thing about La Roverella is the fantastic swimming pool and pleasant garden surroundings. The pool is large and well maintained, the children loved it - in fact, they complained every time we suggested going out! The owner and his family made us feel very welcome. They gave us several recommendations for where to eat, shop, places of interest to visit and an insight into Sicilian family life. We particularly enjoyed the plentiful supply of fresh figs! We will definitely be going back again sometime and would not hesitate to recommend it to any family looking for a relaxing holiday.

  • La Roverella est un endroit formidable où nous avons passé de très agréables vacances. C'est presque du luxe à portée de main. Imaginez: une grande piscine, des chaises longues où somnoler au solei, une énorme terrasse avec un barbecue, des arbres fruitiers à proximité et à l'intérieur, une pièce principale spacieuse et fort bien équipée (TV et même un poêle pour réchauffer ses soirées) et deux chambres de tout confort. Dans la région, plein de bonnes visites en perspective, mais pensez à louer une voiture; c'est indispensable! Les villes de Ragusa, Modica et Noto sont proches et recèlent des trésors baroques à tous les coins de rue. Vous pouvez également consacrer une journée pour visiter la vallée des temples à Agrigente, Syracuse ou même l'Etna. Et bien sûr la baignade: plages magnifiques aux alentours...Une super adresse où tout concourt à créer une atmosphère de calme, confort et volupté.

  • Un havre de paix, de sérénité et de bonheur ? Voilà ce que nous avons trouvé à la ROVERELLA. Tout était parfait. L'accueil chaleureux et la gentillesse des propriétaires ont largement contribué à ce que nous avons passé des vacances de rêve, malheureusement trop courtes, et nous ne rêvons que d'une seule chose c'est d'y retourner.   • I have to say that I was greatly impressed during our stay at La Roverella. The setting was peaceful and we were very close to the town of Marina Di Ragusa and the beach but would recommend a hire car to explore southern Siciliy. The accommodation was of the highest standard with a fresh modern decor and plenty of room. The swimming pool and surrounding gardens were excellent and very well maintained. Overall I have to say that our stay at La Roverella was excellent and I will most definitely be looking to stay there again in the future.

  • Ci siamo trovati molto bene sia per quanto riguarda la sistemazione e la casa sia per l'accoglienza. La Roverella è un posto veramente bello che permette di vivere in totale relax e in pieno contatto con la natura! Abbiamo anche particolarmente apprezzato la posizione isolata e tranquilla ma nello stesso tempo comoda per qualsiasi spostamento e il clima fantastico. Ovviamente non dimentichiamo la piscina con l'idromassaggio e le due tenerissime gattine e la simpatica cagnetta che ci venivano a trovare ogni sera.

  • Abbiamo molta nostalgia; questo significa che il giudizio e' estremamente positivo. La cosa migliore della vacanza e' stata proprio la locazione trovata e cioe' la Roverella Per la nostra famiglia numerosa con tre bambini la soluzione "Roverella" e esattamente perfetta; la casetta e' spaziosa, pulita, tranquilla. Quanto di meglio veramente si possa trovare. Eccezionale la disponibilta' dei "padroni di casa" che si comportano non come "freddi locatari" ma esattamente come padroni di casa che accudiscono ai loro ospiti ma con molta discrezione Colpiscono alcuni piccoli particolari come il preoccuparsi se l'ospite trova la strada migliore per arrivare; alcuni frutti fatti trovare all'arrivo nel frigo per permettere la prima colazione, e piccole cose di questo tipo che dimostrano l'attenzione verso l'ospite non comune nella maggior parte delle strutture La "Roverella" non e' esattamente sul mare e questo per qualcuno può essere un handicap ma si trova comunque in posizione strategica per potersi muovere su tutta la costa; l'uso dell'auto e' comunque indispensabile

  • We (two couples in their thirties) spent a very nice week at "La Roverella" at the beginning of September 2002. The guesthouses are really comfortable for four persons, they are spacious and well equipped. The farm - mostly used for growing tomato - has situated some kilometers far from the village of Marina di Ragusa and surrounded by the same agricultural settlements. Therefore our car was always necessary to move out, but we were overcompensated by the natural environment and the full comfort of the farm. We regularly visited to Marina di Ragusa, which is a seaside resort having good atmosphere and attracting tourists and residents with its long sandy beach, restaurants, shopping and entertainment facilities. Meanwhile, we could easily reach the most important sights of the southeastern part of Sicily (e.g. Agrigento, Ragusa, Noto, Siracusa, Etna, Taormina). After arriving from these one-day trips we could quickly refresh and relax in the clear swimming pool of the farm. So, we still think that "La Roverella" was the best choice for our holiday in Southeast Sicily.

  • Abbiamo passato una vacanza di relax nell'accogliente e confortevole Villetta. Siamo state accolte dal Signor e dalla Signora Lo Presti in un ambiente di calda ospitalità. Wir wurden mit warmer Gastfreundlichkeit von der farm. Lo Presti empfangen. besonders gefielen uns die ruhigen Tage im Miniatur-Naturpark am Meer.

  • We all were suprised in the best ways when arriving at your farm. Our expectations from pictures and descriptions from the web pages where really surpassed. The accomodation was comfortable, equipped in a tasteful style and had place enough for everyone of our 4 headed family. A great pleasure for the kids (and even the adults) was the big-sized pool. The hostage of Mr. Lo Presti was friendly and helpful and he supplied us with lots of fresh tomatoes and fruits. By the way: You really need a car during the whole stay, even for shopping it is necessary. We will recommend "La Roverella" to our friends.

  • A nice, comfortable and friendly place to spent a holiday. It's perfect for a small family that's looking for a break. Some very attractive beaches within a few kilometers was also nice. And we would like to recommend the old town of Ragusa. It's beautifull and they have a couple of nice restaurants.
